Elite English School is a private K-10 school located in Deira, Dubai and currently caters to 1200 students at present, with 62 full-time teachers, most of whom have appropriate teaching qualifications. Students of Indian nationality comprised about 60 per cent of the student body, Pakistani 14 per cent and Filipino 12 per cent.

A third of teachers were new to the school in the last academic year.

The school was established in 1993 and during its most recent inspection it received an Acceptable rating – which is below the Good rating the regulator, the KHDA, wants as a minimum standard for all schools in the emirate.

The school does have strengths, however, and was commended by the KHDA for the very positive relationship, based on mutual respect, between students and teaching staff.

Weaknesses lie in the key areas of teaching, progress and attainment. Elite English School teaches a CBSE English speaking curriculum with compulsory subjects also being taught in Arabic. The quality of teaching in the Kindergarten is currently deemed Unsatisfactory and learning resources available for the children inadequate. At primary level teaching is considered Acceptable though again there is a lack of resources, especially in the early primary years. In the secondary section of the school teaching is Good, with the teaching of English and Maths particularly commended by the KHDA.

The school boasts a number of science and computer labs. The school’s recent inspection report notes a strong need to better integrate ICT (technology) into student academic life. However, the quality of the care and support for those students identified with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Resource Centre was rated very positively by the KHDA, though support was only Acceptable within the main school. Health and safety, as well as levels of child protection, were judged to be good.

As of 2014 fees are very much at the low end of the spectrum, ranging from 4035 AED to 8907 AED per year depending upon grade. Full details may be found below.
