Murdoch University in Dubai

Murdoch University in Dubai is a core branch of Murdoch University which is based in Perth, Western Australia. The Dubai campus was inaugurated in 2008 by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, the UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and is situated at Dubai International Academic City. The branch is licenced by the Dubai Government body Knowledge and Human Development Authority.

Campus facilities and student welfare
Murdoch Dubai provides state-of-the-art facilities and world class technology so that the students have access to the highest education standards globally. All courses follow the same academic requirements as the courses offered in Australia, taught by highly qualified international lecturers. The degrees awarded are issued from Australia and are exactly the same as the ones conferred on campus in Australia.

The facilities at the Dubai branch include modern lecture theatres, administrative offices and student support services. The campus features fully professional high-tech TV and radio studios, as well as post-production facilities. A centrally located library learning common acts as a one-stop-shop for student learning and services. It also offers students access to all electronic databases that are provided by the main campus in Australia.

The students at Murdoch Dubai enjoy a variety of choices when it comes to extra-curricular activities offered to encourage a holistic approach to students’ welfare on campus, including sports teams, music clubs and regular events. A media production club the ‘Murdoch Production Team’ was formed in 2010 to assist students’ participation in real-life media productions. The team works on various projects including a presence at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), Rugby 7’s and Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Murdoch Dubai also supports students by facilitating student loans through partner agreements with local and international banks and financial institutions including Mashreq Bank, ADCB and Barclays.
